Don't let idiots ruin your day.

I am incredibly sick and tired of people walking all over me. It's not something I allow, nor have I allowed it to happen for years, but all of sudden, everyone seems to be walking all over me. Apparently I take advantage of everyone when really I'm constantly going out of my way to do things for my friends and family.

Throughout the past day, I have lain in my bed and thought, driven my car and thought, worked and thought. All this thinking I've been doing has reminded me that I don't need people like that in my life. I am happy with myself and who I am, and I definitely don't need anyone bringing me down. Honestly, I'm not going to waste my time being angry and upset with these people causing me these problems. What's the point? I'd just be presenting to the world that these people managed to get to me, to break me to my very inner core.

These hypocrites will NOT break me down. They will NOT get the better of me. They will NOT abuse me. And they most definitely will NOT succeed in pushing me around.

No way will I EVER let that happen.

Fine and dandy...but are you sure, it's all them and NOT a wee bit of you???

Before attacking and rejecting and disowning, ask yourself these questions..."Is there a single thread running through each of these peoples' rants at me? Could they be offering some advice for me to follow, not from disdain at who you are, but from the unconditional love they feel for you?

If you quietly have to admit Yes to the above, then maybe it's time to take a second look in the mirror before you become an island unto yourself!

Just a thought, or two...

hmm...kind of like do unto others, in a mind over matter type of way

I never said that it wasn't me at all, but I do nothing but show my appreciation for what everyone does for me. I go out of my way to hang out with them, drive 30 minutes out of my way to pick them up when they don't even know where I live because they don't have the "time or the money" to pick me up ever. I got a drunk-driving charge because my friend never drives. I know that was my fault also, but still these people don't realize the sacrifices I've made in my life for them.

So before you go out of your way to say that "I'm attacking" people and "disowning" myself from the blame, I'm not.

I'm just venting. Thanks.

hi courtenay it's being a while since my last posting in your blog. I apologize for that, as I explained to you before I'm not the best writer or speller. Now that I have a program that allows me to talk to my computer. She write it for me isn't that cool. Anyhow, I just wanted to wish you a happy new year, and the best and blessings for you and your loved ones. Sincerely yours Armando.

Ignore the attacking comments you received from MsBurb. There really ARE people out there (like yourself) that are nice and get taken advantage of! You know the situation better than her anyways. And from reading your blog, you don't seem like a person would rant without good reason. You have every right to feel the way you do. I get walked all over by friends and co-workers because I'm (in their own words) "sweet" and "innocent" and "polite." In the case of my co-workers, I'm very different from them, and they apparently don't accept differences without making fun. But the problem isn't just that they're "walking over"'s also that I'm a push over. I'm learning that I don't have to please everyone and give them what they want. If a friend wants to hang out and rent a movie, and throws the tab on me, I take a stand and make them pay half. Sure, I'll pay for things every now and then, but do it too often and that's how you get taken advantage of. (Same with car-pooling.)

Not sure if this helps, but just know you're not alone and know that you can say no/stop it to people who walk all over you. :)
